Xianming is an experienced architect delivering high profile projects both in UK and aboard. As project architect and lead designer, he has completed almost 20 buildings over 15 years, ranging from thousands of pounds house extension to multi-million pounds museum.
He has expertise in construction detailing and coordination as well as a good understanding of current building regulations and standards. He has proven track in materializing and delivering projects with innovative technical solutions to meet the client’s requirement.
Xianming had previously worked with Anshen Allen on large health care projects. He has also been working with CZWG as project architect on mix-use residential projects especially the Canning Town regeneration.
His sustainable city competition entry – Lochend Butterfly in Edinburgh has been commended by RIBA. The scheme has been exhibited and published in major architectural magazines.
Xianming studied architecture in Tongji University in China. After graduated in 1997, he worked with Shanghai Institute of Architectural Design and Research before coming to UK to acquire master degree in Bath University. His major works in China include the completion of Shanghai Science and Technology Museum.
Yi was born in Shanghai. She studied Architecture at Tongji University of China and Sheffield University of UK. She has previously worked with MJP Architects, Llewelyn Davis and East China Architectural Design Institute. Her work covers various sectors including office, education, residential and etc. from feasibility to completion. She is known for her creativity and expertise in urban design and mix-use housing projects. She is currently doing studies on low-rise high-density homes.
Yi and Xianming started their collaboration right back in 1998 following winning the competition of Pubic Newspaper Pavilion in Shanghai. They continued working on some small projects before setting up MY Architects in 2012.
Yi loves drawing, reading, travelling and all the beautiful things around her.
Zhi studied industrial design at Tongji University of China and National Superior School of Art and Design in France. She had her internship at Ikea design department and had worked on the exhibition of Shanghai Science Museum. After post-graduation Zhi has been working with Antonio Virga Architects (AVA) in Paris as an interior designer.
Her expertise lies in shop fit-out, high-end residential interior and furniture design. During the time with AVA, she has been responsible for the fit-out of many luxury fashion houses, which include See by Chloé, Pablo，Comptoir des Cotonniers and etc, from conceptual plan to detailed design and construction.
Zhi is known for her cutting-edge and creativity. Her product design ‘Shao’ received MACEF Design commendation and was exhibited in Milan trade fair as well as the galleries in France. In 2010 a collection of her graphic design and illustrations were exhibited and published in hand print on limited editions, which had been well received by the arts collectors. Zhi has recently been nominated as one of the 19 most influential young designers of China.
